Design

Let’s start with the appearance, Medion has built the Akoya S4403 with the mixture of metal and plastic. The convertible has an aluminium lid, while the base and bezels are surrounded with plastic. This is a typical budget laptop design that we have been seeing for a few years.

Nevertheless, the Akoya S4403 appears as an expensive device at a glance and feels solid. Medion Akoya S4403 weighs around 3.79lbs (1.72kg), whereas the chassis is only 0.685-inch thick. It features a 360 degrees hinge that lets you rotate the keyboard all the way back. We found the hinges just perfect, neither too tight nor too wobbly.

Display

Medion Akoya S4403 features a 14-Inch wide FHD display that comes with an IPS touchscreen. Its screen offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080p with narrow bezels. This is a remarkable display for a convertible laptop of this price range. We tested its touchscreen for performance and found it highly responsive, as it follows the command instantly when you tap the screen.

The Intel HD 620 Integrated makes sure you get superb visual quality. We found the display vividly bright and colours were lively when we played “Sonic the Hedgehog.”

Performance

When it comes to performance, the Akoya S4403 is among the top convertible gaming laptops. As we mentioned earlier, Medion has armed this 2-in-1 laptop with an 8th generation quad-core i7 processor. Additionally, there is an 8GB RAM with a 512GB SSD storage drive. This is a power-packed combination of features that ensures you get the work done smoothly.

We have already talked about its touchscreen feature, but the keyboard itself is amazing. The keys are well placed, have enough depth and deliver a tactile feedback. All in all, this is a workaholic keyboard for professionals and students alike. You can work from the comfort of your home sitting on a sofa or in an airplane sitting beside a stranger.

Coming back to the specs, the Core i7 CPU performs exceptionally well under tough conditions. We tested it by running office programs, some media software and multiple Chrome tabs at once. Surprisingly, the laptop didn’t show any lags and we didn’t experience any holdbacks when we switched between apps.

Verdict

Overall, Medion Akoya S4403 is a great 2-in-1 laptop that carries the specs of a professional laptop. It has got everything that you would want to see in a modern convertible laptop. You will get all the good stuff in one pack from an impressive Core i7 CPU and SSD drive to a responsive touch screen and 45Wh battery.
