PlayStation Plus July 2026: The Lineup You Cannot Miss

July has turned up the heat, and not just outside. The PS Plus July games deliver military action, tabletop-style adventuring, samurai combat, open-world sci-fi, zombie survival and a pair of cult PS2 classics.

Whether you have just upgraded to one of the latest gaming consoles or you are still getting plenty of mileage from your PS4, Sony Interactive Entertainment has spread July’s additions across PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra and Premium.

PS Plus July Games: The Quick Answer

The July 2026 PlayStation Plus lineup includes three monthly games for every membership tier, seven Game Catalog additions for Extra and Premium members, and two classic games exclusively for Premium members.

• Essential monthly games: Claim from 7 July until 3 August 2026.
• Extra and Premium Game Catalog: Games arrive in the UK on 15, 21 and 28 July.
• Premium classics: Both become available on 21 July.
• Catalogue end dates: Sony has not announced removal dates for July’s Extra or Premium additions. They remain playable while included in the relevant catalogue and while your qualifying membership is active.

PS Plus Essential July Games

The PS Plus Essential July games are available to Essential, Extra and Premium members. Add them to your library between Tuesday 7 July and Monday 3 August 2026.

Once claimed, they remain playable whenever your PlayStation Plus membership is active.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III – Cross-Gen Bundle

The headline act among the July free PS Plus games is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.

The Cross-Gen Bundle combines a campaign featuring Captain Price and Task Force 141, refreshed versions of all 16 launch maps from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 and a large-scale Zombies experience.

CrossCode

CrossCode could be the sleeper hit of the PlayStation Plus monthly games selection.

Its colourful 16-bit presentation hides a fast and precise action RPG packed with clever dungeon puzzles, equipment choices and a layered science-fiction story.

Choose it when you want something substantial but different from the usual open-world blockbuster. The combat is snappy, the puzzles demand attention and the retro aesthetic still looks wonderfully sharp.

PS Plus Extra July 2026 Game Catalogue

Extra members receive seven additions this month, while Premium members gain access to the same Game Catalogue lineup.

Rise of the Ronin – Available 15 July

Team Ninja’s open-world action RPG sends you to 1863 Japan, where political turmoil, foreign influence and civil conflict collide.

You shape a nameless warrior’s path through combat, exploration and consequential alliances. Swordplay sits at the centre of the experience, but firearms, stealth and different combat styles give you plenty of ways to approach each encounter.

For owners of PlayStation 5 consoles, this is arguably July’s biggest Extra-tier download. Expect demanding battles, a broad historical setting and plenty of opportunities to create your own fighting style.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – Available 21 July

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora explores the Western Frontier from a first-person perspective.

Playing as a Na’vi raised by the human-controlled RDA, you must reconnect with your heritage, meet local clans and fight to protect Pandora from returning military forces.

Its lush open world makes this an attractive choice for players who enjoy exploration, movement and visually rich environments. It is also an impressive showcase when you want your PS5 to flex its cinematic muscles.

Firefighting Simulator: Ignite – Available 21 July

This cooperative simulator puts you inside a US fire crew facing dynamic flames, thick smoke and dangerous rescue scenarios.

Up to four players can work together in multiplayer, while solo firefighters receive support from an NPC-controlled crew. You will need to choose the correct tools, read each situation and coordinate your response before the blaze gets out of control.

It is a refreshing change from standard shooters: communication, positioning and teamwork matter considerably more than chasing a high kill count.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind – Available 28 July

Robo Rita travels back in time to team up with her younger self, giving the Power Rangers an excuse to punch through a colourful remix of familiar enemies, locations and events.

The side-scrolling brawler format makes Rita’s Rewind ideal for local nostalgia sessions, arcade fans and anyone who still knows exactly when to shout, “It’s morphin time!”

Expect fast combat, pixel-powered presentation and plenty of references for long-time fans of the original series.

Dying Light – Available 28 July

Dying Light combines first-person parkour, scavenging, crafting and brutal zombie combat in the infected city of Harran.

Daytime exploration is tense, but night-time survival is a completely different level of panic. Stronger infected emerge after dark, turning even a simple journey back to safety into a frantic rooftop escape.

Although July adds the PS4 version, it remains one of the strongest co-op survival games in the July PlayStation Plus games lineup.

Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector – Available 28 July

Citizen Sleeper 2 is a narrative RPG about an artificial body containing an emulated human mind.

You steal a ship, recruit a crew, accept contracts and make difficult decisions shaped by skills, stress and dice rolls. Every job carries risk, while your relationships and choices influence what kind of future you can build.

This is the thoughtful pick of the month: less about reflexes and more about identity, survival, relationships and living with the consequences of your decisions.

Snow Bros. Wonderland – Available 28 July

Snow Bros. Wonderland brings the long-running arcade series into a colourful 3D isometric world.

Freeze monsters into snowballs, launch them through groups of enemies and chain attacks together for bigger results. Massive bosses and increasingly crowded stages put your snowball skills to the test.

It is bright, accessible and delightfully old-school — a smart palate cleanser between July’s heavier RPGs and open-world adventures.

PS Plus Premium July 2026 Classics

PlayStation Plus Premium — called Deluxe in some markets — adds two PS2 classics on 21 July 2026.

Neither game has a published removal date, so access continues while each title remains in the Classics Catalogue and your Premium membership stays active.

Indigo Prophecy, Also Known as Fahrenheit

Quantic Dream’s paranormal thriller lets you experience a mysterious murder investigation from multiple perspectives.

Originally released as Fahrenheit in the UK, the game is cinematic, strange and ambitious, with branching decisions helping define how its story develops.
