Gen 1 AMD is designed as a business-focused laptop that combines a large
display with a practical chassis and a comprehensive set of features.
Its 16-inch format provides a spacious working area while maintaining a
professional design suited to office environments, education, remote
work, and general productivity. The black chassis uses PC-ABS materials
and measures approximately 357.2 x 253.4 x 20.78 mm, with a starting
weight of around 1.77 kg. The keyboard includes a dedicated numeric
keypad, TrackPoint pointing device, and multi-touch trackpad, while
selected configurations provide LED backlighting. The overall design
provides a balance between usability and portability for users who
prefer a larger laptop for everyday work.
Spacious 16-Inch Display
The ThinkPad L16 Gen 1 AMD
is available with 16-inch WUXGA displays featuring a 1920 x 1200
resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. Depending on configuration, the panel
can include IPS technology, anti-glare treatment, 300-nit brightness,
and TÜV Eyesafe certification for low-blue-light characteristics.
Touchscreen functionality is also available on selected configurations.
The 16:10 format provides additional vertical workspace compared with
conventional 16:9 displays, which can be useful when working with
documents, spreadsheets, websites, and productivity applications. The
display options are designed to provide a practical viewing area while
maintaining the laptop's business-oriented form factor. Exact panel
features can vary according to the individual model configuration.
AMD Ryzen PRO Performance
The ThinkPad L16 Gen 1 AMD
uses AMD Ryzen PRO 7000 Series processors, with options including Ryzen
3 PRO 7335U, Ryzen 5 PRO 7535U, and Ryzen 7 PRO 7735U. Depending on the
selected processor, the system provides up to eight cores and 16
threads, with integrated AMD Radeon 660M or Radeon 680M graphics
handling visual output. Memory is provided through two DDR5-4800 SODIMM
slots, with support for up to 64GB and dual-channel operation. Storage
uses an M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD, with the platform supporting capacities of up
to 2TB according to Lenovo's specifications. This combination provides a
flexible foundation for office applications, multitasking,
communication, document management, web-based workloads, and other
everyday computing requirements.
Connectivity and
Communication
The laptop provides a
broad selection of connections for modern professional workspaces.
Available ports include USB4 with Power Delivery and DisplayPort 2.1, an
additional USB-C port, multiple USB-A connections, HDMI 2.1, Gigabit
Ethernet, and a combined headphone and microphone connector. Depending
on configuration, a smart card reader and Nano-SIM support can also be
available. Wireless connectivity is provided through Qualcomm Wi-Fi 6E
with Bluetooth 5.3, while selected models can support 4G LTE
connectivity through optional WWAN hardware. The system can support up
to four independent displays, including the internal panel and three
external monitors connected through HDMI, USB-C, and USB4. This makes
the laptop suitable for both mobile work and expanded desktop setups.
Battery and Business
Features
The ThinkPad L16 Gen 1 AMD
incorporates business-oriented security, communication, and usability
features. Battery configurations include 46.5Wh and 57Wh options, with
Rapid Charge support available when using a suitable 65W or higher
adapter. Camera options range from an HD 720p RGB camera with a privacy
shutter to a 5MP RGB and infrared camera on selected configurations.
Security features can include a fingerprint reader, discrete TPM 2.0,
Microsoft Pluton TPM 2.0, Kensington Nano Security Slot, and smart card
support. Audio is provided through Dolby Audio speakers, while selected
configurations include Dolby Voice and dual microphones. Combined with
its expandable memory, versatile connectivity, large display, and AMD
Ryzen PRO platform, the ThinkPad L16 Gen 1 provides a practical setup
for professional and everyday computing environments.
