Lenovo ThinkCentre neo 50q
Gen 5
Compact and Space-Saving
Design
The Lenovo ThinkCentre neo
50q Gen 5 is a compact desktop computer designed for environments where
efficient use of workspace is important. Its Tiny 1-litre form factor
measures approximately 179 x 182.9 x 34.5 mm, allowing it to fit neatly
on a desk or in other space-conscious setups. The system uses a black
chassis and can be positioned as part of a professional workstation
without taking up the space associated with a traditional desktop tower.
Its compact construction is complemented by a Kensington Security Slot
and a tool-less chassis screw for practical access and security. The
design also supports selected mounting options, allowing the system to
be integrated into compatible workspace configurations.
Intel Core Processing
The specified ThinkCentre
neo 50q Gen 5 configuration uses an Intel Core 5 210H processor with 8
cores and 12 threads. The processor combines four performance cores and
four efficiency cores, with a maximum frequency of up to 4.8GHz on the
performance cores. Integrated Intel Graphics handles graphical output,
making the system suitable for general office applications, productivity
software, web-based tasks, communication, and everyday desktop
workloads. The system supports up to 64GB of DDR5-5600 memory through
two SO-DIMM slots, providing flexibility for different memory
configurations. The specified model comes with 16GB of DDR5-5600 memory,
providing a balanced configuration for multitasking and common
professional computing requirements.
Fast Storage and
Expandability
The specified model
includes a 512GB M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD with Opal 2.0 security
support, providing storage for applications, documents, media, and other
commonly used files. The ThinkCentre neo 50q Gen 5 platform supports up
to two M.2 SSDs, with each drive capable of supporting capacities of up
to 1TB based on Lenovo's tested configurations. The system also provides
two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots, allowing memory to be configured in dual-channel
mode. This combination of NVMe storage and expandable memory provides a
practical foundation for everyday productivity and business computing.
There is no optical drive or card reader, keeping the compact chassis
focused on modern digital storage and connectivity.
Versatile Connectivity
The ThinkCentre neo 50q
Gen 5 provides a comprehensive selection of ports despite its compact
size. Front connectivity includes USB-C with USB 10Gbps data transfer
and charging support, a USB-A 10Gbps port with Always On functionality,
and a combined 3.5mm headphone and microphone jack. The rear panel
provides additional USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1 TMDS, DisplayPort 1.4b, and
Gigabit Ethernet through an RJ-45 connector. Selected configurations can
also include an optional punch-out port for VGA, a second DisplayPort,
serial connectivity, or 2.5Gb Ethernet. The system can support up to
three independent displays using its onboard DisplayPort, HDMI, and
optional display output, providing flexibility for multi-monitor
workspaces.
Wireless and Everyday
Business Features
Wireless connectivity on
the ThinkCentre neo 50q Gen 5 varies by configuration and can include
Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E, or Wi-Fi 7, together with Bluetooth support. The
specified model includes a 90W 89% efficient power adapter, while the
platform can support several power adapter options depending on
configuration. Audio is handled through a Realtek ALC256 high-definition
audio codec, with the specified configuration featuring a 2W speaker.
The desktop does not include a built-in camera or microphone, which is
typical for a compact desktop designed to work with external displays
and peripherals. Security features include discrete TPM 2.0 and a
Kensington Security Slot. Overall, the compact chassis, modern processor
platform, expandable memory, NVMe storage, and broad connectivity make
it suitable for a range of professional and everyday desktop
environments.
