Design

It distinguishes itself primarily through its design, featuring TrueStrike Controllers that are easily detachable. With a built-in kickstand at the back, the main system can be placed on a flat surface, offering users an experience akin to using a traditional video game controller.

The package also includes a stabilization disk, which securely holds the right-hand controller when detached. This enables it to function like an actual mouse for the device, enhancing the overall immersive gaming to a new level.

For precise accuracy and more reliability, both the joysticks on each controller respectively are hall effect. The right-hand one accommodates the A, B, X, and Y buttons for game controls, a small-size trackpad, to eliminate the Windows integration of Joy-to-Mouse, a scroll wheel, a shoulder trigger, two customizable buttons at the back, and three shoulder buttons. For the left one, there is included a D-pad, and apart from the trackpad, almost everything remains the same. 

Apart from that, ensuring uninterrupted gameplay is Lenovo's Legion Cold Front Cooling System, featuring a large intake vent at the back and an exhaust vent at the top to effectively cool the device during use.

CPU

The gaming mobility is provided by the Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, which is specifically designed and optimized for handheld products like this one. The unit comes with a set of 8 CPU cores, and 16 threads, where these are initially clocked at 3.3 GHz with an L@ cache of 8 MB and an L3 cache of 16 MB, which means the multicore and multithreaded functionality of the Z1 is flawless for handhelds. The cores support overclocking till a max clock frequency of 5.1 GHz.

As games also require graphical assistance, it is integrated with the AMD Radeon Graphics, which offers a graphics core count of 12 cores. On top of that, it features AMD Radeon Super Resolution, Boost, Anti-Lag, Chill, and FreeSync Technology.

Memory and Storage

The unit allows the games to take full advantage of the provided 16 GB of LPDDR5x non upgradable onboard soldered memory which offers a transfer rate of a colossal 7500 MT/s. For the case of storage, it is fitted with a 2242 PCIe Gen 4.0x4 NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive that can pack data of around 1 TB, mounted over the Gen 4 M.2 slot.

Display

Making the engagement for its user with the device more and more native is the 8.8-inch diagonal IPS panel with a fruity resolution of WQXGA 2560 x 1600. Being a portable computer, it comes with a maximum attainable brightness of 500 nits. The screen while being Glossy is also Anti-fingerprint, and covers 97% of DCI-P3 color space. Utilizes the potential of the CPU and refreshes at a rich rate of 144 Hz. Since the surface of the screen will be exposed to a lot of different environments continuously therefore it comes with the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which prevents damage and scratches. It also allows touch inputs for the screen to make it act like a Windows tablet. Where the panel also emits less blue light for the protection of the eyes.

Battery

Powering the system on the go is the integrated 49.2 Wh battery which under normal conditions can easily stand for around 6 hours. After running out can use the included 65-watt USB Type-C AC Adapter, which uses the Super Rapid Charge Technology to make it juice up to 70% in just 30 minutes.

Connectivity

The wireless connections are processed by the AMD Wi-Fi 6E RZ616, 11ax 2x2 + BT5.3 wireless card.

The port situation is also very broad, including 2 x USB4 ports, one at the top and the other one at the bottom for ease.  Both provide a signaling rate of 40 Gbps while also supporting data transfer, Power Delivery 3.0 and DisplayPort 1.4, 1x Headphone/microphone combo jack (3.5mm), SD 1x Card reader, 2x Pogo pin connector (5-point).
